Providing hope, advocacy, and a voice for those serving life or life without parole, whether wrongfully convicted, living with mental illness or addiction, or shaped by trauma and hardship.

Advocating for First-Time Offenders Serving Life and Life Without Parole

Our Mission

New Vision Organization (NVO) is a nonprofit fighting for incarcerated first-time offenders serving life or life without parole. We connect them with pro bono legal help, advocacy networks, and the personal support they need to be seen, heard, and given a fair chance at freedom.

Through research, letter writing, coalition work, and our radio program Shedding Light, we challenge the system of mass incarceration and advocate for humane, effective alternatives — especially for those living with mental illness or addiction.

Advocacy Focus

Massachusetts lawmakers are considering bills that would end life without parole and allow parole hearings after 25 years. These reforms offer hope for rehabilitation, restorative justice, and fairer sentencing.

Partner Organizations

We work alongside local and national groups advancing justice reform, mental health advocacy, and rehabilitation.
